Shedding: our yarn is 100% merino wool roving, carded and combed but not spun. In a knitted piece the loose fibres settle and lock together in the first 2–3 weeks, and the shedding stops on its own. One gentle wash stops it straight away.

Washing a knitted piece (blanket, cushion, scarf, basket): lukewarm water with plain water or a mild wool soap; squeeze gently, don't rub, twist or wring. Remove the rest of the water on a spin-only cycle at the slowest speed, fluff the piece back into shape and dry it flat.

Drying: always dry flat. Big pieces like blankets are heavy and stretch if you hang them; a tumble dryer felts the wool unevenly.

Felting, spinning and weaving: the same unspun roving works as fibre – pull off thin wisps for wet, needle or nuno felting, or draft it for spinning.

FAQs

It depends on the blanket size. Chunky yarns are sold by weight, and skeins vary from 1/2 lbs to 10 lbs (0.227 kg to 4.54 kg). So whether you buy a 1 lb skein or a 6 lb skein, you get the yarn in a continuous strand; it's just a bigger skein.

To calculate the amount needed, we advise using this simple formula:
Length in inches x Width in inches / 360 = lbs needed
For instance:
For a twin size blanket measuring 40" x 75", you will need
40 x 75 / 360 = 8.3 lbs.

In the metric system, I calculate it this way:
Length in cm x Width in cm / 2300 = lbs needed
Using the same twin size, measuring 100 cm x 190 cm:
100 x 190 / 2300 = 8.3 lbs

When it comes to the colors of our products, we strive to provide accurate representations in our pictures. However, it's important to keep in mind that colors may appear slightly different depending on various factors.

Firstly, lighting conditions can have a significant impact on how colors appear. Natural daylight, fluorescent lighting, or warm indoor lighting can all affect how colors are perceived. Additionally, the type and quality of your device's screen can also influence color accuracy. What looks vibrant and true on one device may appear slightly different on another.

To get the most accurate representation of colors, we recommend viewing our products in a variety of lighting conditions and on different devices if possible.
